Master Plan

The Banks is uniquely situated at Cincinnati’s front door at the foot of the historic Roebling Suspension Bridge and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. The Banks will stretch south from Cincinnati’s Central Business District and west to east between Paul Brown Stadium and the Great American Ballpark. The revitalization of Cincinnati’s Central Riverfront is a historic opportunity to reconnect the City to its waterfront, complete major transportation and transit improvement and enhance the image of the entire region.

The vision for The Banks is to create a place where thousands of people will live, work and enjoy leisure time. The mixed uses- consisting of retail, residential, entertainment, office, parking and hotel space – will be active 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Banks is intended to be a gathering place for people across the region, providing a variety of attractions that promote public enjoyment and appreciation for Cincinnati’s riverfront.

The Banks Master Plan, approved by the City and the County in 2007, includes approximately 200,000 -1,000,000 square feet of office, 200,000 – 400,000 square feet of retail, 200,000-400,000 square feet of hotel and 1,000,000– 1,800,000 square feet of residential. The Master Plan is anticipated to be completed in multiple phases of a ten to fifteen year period.
